Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek said that the Disney company is preparing to enter the world of virtual reality.
Since Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company’s name had been changed to Meta, the concept of the Metaverse has begun to appear in many aspects of our lives.

Many companies are working on their metaverse projects, including game developers Roblox, Epic Games, and software behemoth Microsoft.
During his meeting on Wednesday, Chapek stated that this metaverse step forward is comparable to Disney’s release of the first cartoon with synchronized sound.
Chapek made a following statement about the subject;
“Our efforts to date are merely a prologue to a time when we’ll be able to connect the physical and digital worlds even more closely, allowing for storytelling, without boundaries in our own Disney Metaverse,”
In an interview with CNBC, Chapek stated that he believes this opportunity will also allow for new storytelling. Disney+ and the metaverse concept, according to Chapek, will be interoperable.
Tilak Mandadi, Disney’s former executive vice president of digital, wrote on LinkedIn in 2020 about developing a theme park metaverse in which the “physical and digital world converge” via wearable devices, smartphones, and digital access points.
