A new business focused on Bitcoin (BTC) investments has been launched by a Norwegian oil billionaire.
According to Bloomberg, Norwegian oil billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke recently expressed his interest in Bitcoin and expressed his BTC support. He believes that BTC could be the best way to preserve the financial sector and central banks from disturbances.
Aker ASA, an Oslo-listed firm, has founded a new company dedicated to investing in bitcoin ventures and businesses. In a statement released today, The Holding said that its new venture, Seetee AS, will keep all of its liquid investment assets in Bitcoin and will also enter the Bitcoin mining industry.
Kjell Inge Roekke, the Norwegian billionaire and majority owner of Aker, wrote to shareholders in a letter:
“Bitcoin may still go to zero. But it can also become the core of a new monetary architecture,” Rokke, Norway’s second-richest person with an estimated $5.4 billion net worth, wrote in a shareholder letter. He says it’s not inconceivable that one Bitcoin could one day “be worth millions of dollars.”
“People who know the most about Bitcoin believe its future success is nearly inevitable,” Rokke said.
