Nigeria, the greatest source of Bitcoin (BTC) trading volume in Africa, is clearly one of the fastest-growing crypto markets globally. 60% increase in usage of Blockchain.com’s web wallet in the region since April is reported. A Nigerian protest group called Feminist Coalition is inquiring well-wishers to create donations through bitcoin after authorities reportedly blocked its bank account. Feminist Coalition is one of the numerous groups initiating protests against alleged police brutality by a Nigerian police unit, the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The Feminist Coalition was established in July with a mission to “champion equality for women in Nigerian society with core centers of education, financial freedom, and representation in public office.”As of Oct. 16, the Feminist Coalition has collected an add up to of 69,891,637.15 nairas (a couple of bucks shy of $185,000), 15,443,280.00 of which ($40,000) has been conveyed to help 128 protests over the nation, according to the coalition’s website. Since the organization’s bank accounts are banned and shut down by the authorities, the organizations are now turning their faces to Bitcoin donations. They began by utilizing Sendcash, a platform that changes over bitcoin payments into naira and, after that, stores these funds into a recipient’s Nigerian bank account. For more information on the issue and donations, you can check the activist group’s latest post. For support, please click on the tweet below.
